the disrespect in the end, was louder than the memories made

Acceptance of injustice is the heaviest thing you must let roll

          roll down your authentic spine

                             past the dips and tips

                                               into the earth

                                                       you must let it sink

                                                             rot and fester

                                                                      Fertilize the fire

Tides

Treasure my heart, the way you caress your physical

Touch my soul with the grip from the tips of solidarity

Line my veins in echoes of gratitude

Done bleeding for scraps

Done pouring into people’s goodness just to get the steam of their ego

No more pretending I’m fine when my heart isn’t smiling

No longer shall I shelter in place because of comfort

the disrespect in the end, was louder than the memories made

Acceptance of injustice is the heaviest thing you must let roll             roll down your authentic spine                                ...
